The Canada Greener Homes Grant helps homeowners make their homes more energy-efficient and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The grant provides financial support for various retrofit projects.
- Grants up to $5,000: Eligible homeowners can receive grants up to $5,000 for undertaking specific energy-efficient retrofits.
- EnerGuide Evaluations: Up to $600 to cover the costs of pre- and post-retrofit EnerGuide home evaluations.
- Eligible Retrofits: Includes improvements like insulation, air sealing, windows and doors, thermostats, heating equipment (including heat pumps), and renewable energy systems like solar panels.
- Interest-Free Loans: Up to $40,000 interest-free loans with a repayment term of 10 years are also available to further support larger retrofit projects.
Eligibility Requirements
- Homeowners: Must be the primary residence owner.
- Pre-Evaluation: Complete a pre-retrofit EnerGuide evaluation before starting any retrofit work.
- Eligible Retrofits: Only specific types of retrofits qualify, ensuring they meet the energy efficiency improvement criteria set by the program.
